A man with 33 years' experience in the motor industry welcomes a newly appointed apprentice to the trade.
It was in 1976 that Mick Richardson joined Shukers and in that time he has risen to become service manager at the Land Rover dealership in Ludlow.
Mick has always appreciated the advice and support he received as a young technician and will be passing on what he has been taught to new apprentice Craig Price.
Craig, 18, who is from Craven Arms, is Shukers Land Rover’s latest recruit to their apprenticeship scheme and he is looking forward to the challenge.
He joins with NVQ Levels 1 and 2 in motor vehicle engineering which he gained at Shrewsbury College and will be starting a day release course at the college in September.
He will combine his day release with on-the-job training as well as attending Land Rover courses and plans to qualify with an NVQ Level 3 in three years’ time.
Craig has been interested in working on cars since an early age and passed his driving test on June 10 so that he could drive his grandad’s car on the road without plates.
