Shukers Subaru supports local motorsport

For the third year running, Shukers of Ludlow will supply a safety vehicle to Loton Park Hillclimb’s Clerk of the Course. Yet, for this year, instead of a Land Rover, Shukers will be extending the use of a Subaru Impreza WRX STI.

Managing Director of Shukers, Vernon Hogg, explained, “Subaru is a natural partner to a motorsport event. Whether a luxurious Legacy, an eminently practical Outback, a Forester SUV or an iconic Impreza, the brand’s focus is on 4x4 leisure activities. Shukers has a strong allegiance to Shropshire and Subaru possesses a strong sporting heritage, which is why we are supplying Loton Park officials with a 330bhp Impreza WRX STI as their safety car. It delivers breathtaking performance, coupled with Subaru’s 40-years experience of producing all-wheel-drive vehicles that provide unbeatable traction.”

Situated in Alberbury, approximately nine miles from Shrewsbury, the Loton Park Speed Hillclimb is rated as one of the most challenging tracks in the country. With gradients of up to 1 in 7, the course hosts local and national hillclimbing championship rounds.

Rojer Moran, the President of the Hagley and District Light Car Club and the 1997 British Hillclimb Champion highlighted, “The event is a fantastic day out, both for families and devout motorsport enthusiasts. The route is steeped in motoring tradition and we are looking forward to a spectacular competition later this month. We are grateful that Shukers is continuing to support us, as the Impreza is ideal for our purposes, having witnessed some competitors achieving tremendous times with their own Subarus in previous years.”
