A firm which is connected with the farming industry – where Shukers has its historic roots – is the latest to hold a ‘fun day’ at the Shrewsbury-based dealership.
Genus Breeding Ltd., of Nantwich, chose the facilities at Shukers Land Rover to thank the area sales staff for their performance during the last financial year.
Prior to their Land Rover franchise, Shukers had a long association with the agricultural industry as machinery distributors and was well known to many national farming businesses, including Genus.
Said Genus area sales manager Peter Hucknall: “I look to do something a bit different to thank my sales team at the end of each financial year and at the same time have some fun.
“Around 20 of us had a sales meeting in the training room at Shukers and afterwards enjoyed a barbecue at their premises as well as off-roading on their special track.
“The off-roading was really good fun,” added Peter who has been with Genus for 28 years.
Amongst other companies and organisations to recently enjoy the Shukers hospitality facilities at their Battlefield Road, Shrewsbury dealership, have been Rozone Ltd., the Territorial Army and the Severn Hospice who also had a ‘fun day’ to recognise the work of their fundraising team.
Ros Seddon organises the hospitality days for visitors and is keen to promote the facilities as ‘something different’ for special days.
“We arrange buffet lunches, from barbecues to curries, and our training room with its wireless computer links is ideal for meetings and mini conferences. We like to think we are the ‘breed’ when it comes to hospitality.
“The day for Genus included off-roading with the new 2010 Land Rover model range which made it something a little more special for them.”
