Weather drives motorists to Shukers

These wintry conditions pose no problem for the Land Rover

The spell of freezing ice and snow has driven motorists into a 4x4 showroom.

They are enquiring at Shukers Land Rover about the availability of 4x4’s because they cannot get off their own drive.

“The adverse weather has suddenly reminded people that this is the season for 4 wheel drive vehicles,” said Tony Macera, Sales Manager of Shukers Land Rover’s Shrewsbury dealership.

“It’s caught quite a lot of people by surprise. We are possibly facing another three months of similar weather and driving conditions and this has set people thinking that they ought to be behind the wheel of a 4x4 sooner than later.

“We are urging people thinking about a 4 wheel drive that they ought to order a new Land Rover or buy a quality used one now to avoid disappointment this winter.

“For every 4x4 we sell we need to find a replacement and at this time of year it isn’t always easy – so great is the demand.”

He said enquiries were already up on last winter. “For several mornings now we have been waking up to snow and ice and seeing on television the emergency services as well as the highway agency using Land Rover vehicles.

“This has subsequently triggered a lot of interest in 4x4’s and resulted in drivers of other makes of car visiting the showroom to enquire about availability right across the Land Rover model range.

“We are fully expecting to see a growth in the number of enquiries for Land Rovers over the coming days and weeks and this will certainly test our ability to keep pace with demand,” added Tony.
